Kerr Lake State Recreation Area was constructed in the early 1980s and is managed by the North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation. Although this place is open to visitors throughout the year, it is particularly popular during the summer, when thousands of visitors flock to the lake to swim, sunbathe, and enjoy their favorite water sports.
